Why should I validate my cleaning plan ? How do I go about it ?
The choices of cleaning-disinfection processes (chemical agents, application techniques, use protocols) should be validated in order to ensure their effectiveness, control their impact on process surfaces and on the environment and safety for the personnel / consumers. For proper application, the validated methodology should be known to the cleaning personnel.
Audits can be used to assess whether the validated cleaning-disinfection processes are followed properly and each site should apply physical controls (visual controls), chemical controls (validation of rinsing) and microbiological controls.
