Why perform a second disinfection in hog farming ?

In hog farming, we speak of a second disinfection when the breeder performs a final decontamination one or two days before the animals arrive.

This is an aerial disinfection designed to :
- complete the first disinfection (by spraying before depopulation period);
- disinfect hard-to-reach surfaces;
- reduce bio-contamination in the air.

Two techniques are commonly used for the second disinfection: thermal fogging and ultradiffusion (FUMAGRI OPP ; FUMAGRI HA).
