Why perform a second disinfection in poultry farming ?
We speak of a second disinfection when the breeder performs a final decontamination of the equipment and litter one or two days before the animals arrive.
This is an aerial disinfection designed to :
complete the first disinfection (by spraying before depopulation period);
disinfect hard-to-reach surfaces;
reduce bio-contamination in the air.
Two techniques are commonly used for the second disinfection in the poultry industry: thermal fogging and ultradiffusion (FUMAGRI OPP ; FUMAGRI HA).
