What parasites are commonly found in the food industry ?

A parasite is a living organism that eats, lives and reproduces to the detriment of another living being.

Those found in the food industry live in dry foods: flour, grain, cereals, peas, spices, dried fruits and nuts, vegetables), dried meats, chocolates, pasta, etc.

Parasites are capable of getting in through cracks in packaging and can develop in packaged foods. The most common are the flour beetle, lesser grain borer, and moths.
