What is biofilm and how can I get rid of it ?
Biofilm is an aggregate of micro-organisms (mainly bacteria) which adhere to each other in a matrix of complex sugars and proteins adhering to a surface. Biofilm concerns all agri-food activities and gives the micro-organisms comprising it increased resistance to cleaning and disinfection procedures.
Biofilm is a major source of microbial contamination, notably when micro-organisms naturally separate from their support.
