What cleaning and disinfection practices are used in hatcheries ?

After each hatching, wash and disinfect :
- the hatchers;
- the rooms in question;
- the tops of the machines;
- dust and down discharge ducts.

Disinfecting hatchers destroys the micro-organisms still present on surfaces after the cleaning steps.

The following procedure is used :
- general cleanout (removal of down and waste);
- cleaning;
- applying a detergent (enzyme foam) followed by rinsing;
- spray disinfection (bactericidal and fungicidal disinfectant: LCB 130B).

A second disinfection by ultradiffusion (FUMAGRI OPP ; FUMAGRI HA) or fogging (LCB 130B) is required once a week and systematically after each hatching in case of an identified health incident (Salmonella, Aspergillus).
