How do I disinfect my poultry buildings ?

Disinfection operations in poultry buildings are designed to reduce pathogenic germ contamination (Salmonella, Campylobacter, faecal Streptococci, Listeria, Pseudomonas, Aspergillus, etc.).

An initial disinfection should be performed after cleaning operations, by spraying a disinfectant over all surfaces: bactericide, fungicide and virucide. A second, aerial disinfection, by thermal fogging or ultradiffusion, is performed one or two days before the chicks arrive.

The purpose is to cover hard-to-reach surfaces and to reduce any bio-contamination in the air around the litter and equipment.
